Our Story

How did Ilan and Naama Dvir’s wild idea turn into the most unique alpaca and llama farm in the world?

And how did a whole herd make its way from the distant Andes Mountains of South America — all the way to the Negev Desert?

Join us at the farm’s amphitheater, where we’ll be happy to share this pioneering and adventurous story with you.

Alpacas & Llamas

Meet the farm’s “cousins” — the alpaca and the llama. Each one has its own special traits.
So what’s the difference between them? What roles do they play in the Andes — and here on the farm?
How do they groom themselves? And what about those rumors… do they really spit?

100% Alpaca Wool

Since 1987, we have been raising alpacas with care, producing exceptional-quality fleece.
The high-altitude climate of the Negev Highlands naturally enhances the fiber, bringing it to its very best.

At the farm’s Wool House, we handle the entire process under one roof — from gentle shearing and washing to carding, spinning, and plying — always with love and respect for the animals.

We are proud to create the only 100% alpaca wool yarn made entirely from farm to skein outside the Americas. Our yarns are fully handmade, contain no synthetic materials, and are made from pure alpaca wool.

In our shop, you’ll find naturally colored, vibrant, non-fading yarn in a wide range of shades. Each alpaca has its own natural coat color, so every batch is slightly unique — part of what makes it special.

Note for knitters:
Colors may vary between batches, so for larger projects we recommend purchasing an extra skein or two.
Before knitting, be sure to unwind the skein into a ball of yarn.

Picnic with a Llama

Head out into the desert landscape and rolling hills surrounding the farm — with your very own llama carrying your picnic lunch.

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by your personal llama, who will accompany you up the trail to a magical lookout point. There, a shaded picnic table with stunning desert views will be waiting just for you.
Spend some quality time together, and we’re pretty sure you’ll fall in love with your llama for life.
